Successful cat-chose-humans adoption! We lost our incredible cat of 17.5 years in the summer of 2025. I (cat mom) was given that first fur baby when I was in my mid-twenties and living alone. With him by my side the whole time, I got a Master's degree, got married, bought our first home, welcomed his one and only human sibling, and even moved into our dream neighborhood. He became lowkey famous on social media during COVID, and was the FUNNIEST grump to everyone except his three humans who he loved on every day. We thought we could never love again but we all knew we had a cat-shaped hole in our hearts and we were finally ready to give it a try. When we went to Cat Connection, Freckles (now Tinkerbell) adopted us literally within less than 60 seconds of us walking in the front door. She followed us around the entire establishment as we met the other cats, and as soon as my husband sat down, she jumped in his lap. She RAN to the front door in a panic when she thought we were leaving without her as well! Her transition to her furever family's home has been seamless. She is so very different from our old guy who made his trip to the sky last year, but she is exactly what we all need and we love her so. From booking the appointment online to chatting with Tim (employee at Cat Connection) over the phone beforehand, from Tim guiding us through all the cat introductions to facilitating the adoption with CHS, our experience from start to finish was filled with kindness, complete and accurate information, and ease thanks to Tim. If you are ready for an experience where the cat can choose you in a more relaxed and homey environment, or if you just want to spend some time playing Wii or hanging out while surrounded by lots of fur babies, you need to give Cat Connection a call and be sure to ask for Tim. This is the way adoptions should be from now on! The cats were approachable and seemed way less stressed than in a kennel environment. All staff were extremely helpful and informative. This is an amazing concept for both cats and their adopters.
