The Peabody Museum has been part of Yale and New Haven for more than 150 years. In the 19th century, it was the science startup of its day. We are proud to have completed a major renovation that reinvents the Peabody for the 21st century and beyond, further establishing the Museum as a home for cutting-edge research, extraordinary education, and breathtaking exhibitions. Field Trip Experience for K-12 Groups: Our engaging and educational field trips for K-12 students offer a unique opportunity to ignite curiosity and foster a love for science and history. Students will marvel at the wide array of exhibits, from awe-inspiring dinosaur fossils to stunning objects representing thousands of years of human existence, creativity and ingenuity. Through interactive displays and hands-on activities, children will immerse themselves in the wonders of Earth, its life, history and cultures. Educators will find a wealth of resources aligned with curriculum standards, ensuring a seamless integration of museum experiences with classroom learning. Guided workshops led by our knowledgeable staff provide informative and exciting narratives that bring the exhibits to life, making learning both fun and unforgettable. Workshop fees will be waived for New Haven and West Haven public schools, as well as all Schoolwide Program (SWP) Title I public schools in Connecticut. Field Trip Experience for Adult Groups: Adult groups will appreciate a sophisticated introduction to the Peabody's vast collections, through cutting-edge exhibitions that highlight the latest research in various fields, from anthropology to zoology.
